The Lord Mayor Councillor Tony Downing joined Councillor Karen McGowan in saying congratulations to Ruth the founder of the Remember When Cafe on Silkstone Road. It has been two years since it’s doors opened and Councillor Karen McGowan said “We are so lucky to have such a fantastic facility in our community. There are so many people today that feel lonely and isolated. This cafe is a life line to some, it is so warm and friendly and everyone is welcome young and old. Ruth has worked so hard to make it a great success – well done Ruth you’ve done an amazing job”.
