Councillors Bryan Lodge and Karen McGowan attended the funeral of Dave Walton on Wednesday 3 July 2019. Dave was a Birley Ward Labour Party member and had previously stood for election as a Labour councillor in Sheffield. He had also worked locally at Open Door on Birley estate as a Community Development Worker. Councillor Lodge said “I have know Dave for many years we were on the School Governors together and we knew a lot of the same local people. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.” Rest in peace Dave.
