Books for Charnock Hall Primary School in Memory of George McDonald
Birley Ward Labour Party made a £100 donation towards library books at Charnock Hall Primary School in memory of George McDonald a Labour Party member who died in January 2016. George was an active member of the Labour Party and was a governor at the school (including Chair) for over 40 years. The school organised a trip to Waterstone’s and the children had a great time choosing a lovely selection of books. George loved going to school and cooking with the children and well as listening to them read. The books purchased in memory of George were on healthy eating, baking and cookery books. George was also a member of the congregation at St Peters Church on White Lane so they also chose a lovely bible story book. Other books selected were on on politics suitable for children, a book about kings and queens and some lovely story books. We are sure George would approve!
