Frecheville Library and the Prince’s Trust: one foot on the path to a bright future

This week our Birley Ward Councillors Denise Fox and Karen McGowan joined the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Cllr Hussain for a presentation event held at Frecheville Library. The event was for Princes Trust volunteers aged 16-25 to present what they had done as part of their 12-week programme, and what they had planned for the future, with the Lord Mayor presenting certificates of achievement.

Birley Ward Labour would like to say well done to everyone involved, especially with the community project undertaken which was the painting of the outside of the Frecheville library.

The Prince’s Trust Team programme lasts 12 weeks in total, and includes a residential visit, a work placement, a community project and team challenges, as well as team working exercises, employability skills, CV writing and fundraising sessions. The course itself is designed for young adults between the ages of 16 and 25, and is intended to give young people experience as well as a better chance at obtaining future employment.
